Amesbury Open Space Committee defers invasives project, updates open space plan.
Open Space, Natural Resources, and Trails Committee · Meeting of January 28, 2026
Amesbury Open Space Committee receives DPW approval for Woodsom Farm invasives project. Chair Jonathan Sherwood reported verbal approval from the Department of Public Works for the demonstration project, with written confirmation pending, and scheduled volunteer work parties for spring once weather improves. The Committee also addressed the 2020–2027 Open Space and Recreation Plan, which Sherwood sent to the state Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs after it was never formally resubmitted following 2022 posting; EEA's preliminary review removed most conditions but flagged remaining items on mapping verification and documentation, which Sherwood will address.
EEA confirmed the plan remains valid through 2029.
