AMESBURY — Budget Committee recommends $93.2M FY27 spending plan to full City Council. Chair Amanda Haggstrom led the Ad Hoc Budget Committee of the Whole through Mayor Gove's proposal, with Councilor Steve Stanganelli proposing 11 separate expense cuts totaling tens of thousands of dollars, each failing for lack of support. The committee voted 8-1 to approve the Total General Fund ($84,704,738) and 8-1 to approve the Total Appropriation ($93,229,971), with Stanganelli opposed both times and Councilor Kelly Sullivan voting yes despite reservations.
The recommendation advances to the full City Council for a public hearing June 9, 2026.
