City Council approves three grant and transfer orders; continues 40B zoning matter.

AMESBURY — City Council approves $69,858 in grants and transfers, restructures committee system. The Council voted unanimously for three separate mayoral orders: a $20,000 pocket park improvement grant (2026-065), $75,000 in budget reserve transfers to revaluation and legal services (2026-066), and a $14,858 fire department wellness grant (2026-067). In a separate 8-1 vote, President Jessica Redfern and the Council approved revised rules replacing the Budget and Finance, Ordinance and Administration, and Planning and Development committees with a single Committee of the Whole.
The Council also voted unanimously to continue debate on a contested 40B mixed-use application at 27 Kimball Road, following three residents' public comments on safety and water runoff concerns.
