Amesbury City Council holds first FY27 budget hearing on seven municipal departments. Vice President Amanda Haggstrom presided over presentations from Chief of Staff Pamela Tobey (Mayor, Legal Services), Mayor Gove (Administration and Finance), Director of Human Resources Christine Caminero, Chief Assessor John Greeno, and Director of the Library Aimie Westphal. Mayor Gove outlined a proposed transition from SoftRight accounting software at an estimated cost of 700,000 to 800,000 dollars and defended the retention of 62 Friend Street for long-term city planning rather than immediate cost recovery.

The council voted unanimously, 9-0, to adjourn at 8:07 PM.
