Committee approves Hird as new CPA representative.

Open Space, Natural Resources, and Trails Committee · Meeting of February 25, 2026

AMESBURY — Open Space committee appoints Craige Hird to the Community Preservation Committee. The unanimous vote filled the vacancy created by Michelle Faucher's resignation; Sherwood noted a prior applicant may fill Faucher's OSNRTC seat. The committee heard presentations on Batchelder Park, where a perimeter pathway, gathering area, and native plantings are planned following fall brush clearing, and Deer Island Park, where Bob Brisebois outlined trail widening, invasive removal, parking lot improvements, and $6,000–$7,000 in estimated guardrail costs.

Sherwood reported City approval for the Invasives Demonstration Project at Woodsom Farm, with volunteer work parties tentatively set for late April and early May.
