Committee backs no-parking zone recommendation for Clarks Road
Traffic & Transportation Committee · Meeting of December 19, 2022
AMESBURY — Traffic Committee backs no-parking zone on Clarks Road. The Amesbury Traffic and Transportation Committee unanimously recommended that the city council establish a no-parking zone on Clarks Road between Route 110 and Main Street. The recommendation responds to a request from resident Tracey Chalifour, who cited the road's narrow width, deteriorated sidewalks, and unsafe parking practices that endanger pedestrians and bicyclists.
Committee member Christopher Falcos noted that parked vehicles would block safe traffic passage. The recommendation now goes to the city council, which must conduct a formal study and notify abutters before implementing any regulatory changes.
