All 10 council members backed the $500 grant to the Newburyport YWCA for the 2026 Juneteenth celebration, proposed by Co-Chair Sally Nutt. The council is planning to spend a $4,500 grant on Cultural Center improvements including gallery lighting and display technology.
Developer Chris Horan has pledged $1,500 toward future public art projects, with artist qualifications to be solicited in spring 2027.
