Amesbury Historical Commission approves four preservation applications at February meeting. Acting Chair Jay S. Williamson and three members voted unanimously to deem 234 Main Street and 5 School Street not preferably preserved, clearing demolition of both structures.
The commission also unanimously determined 230 Main Street and 2–4 Elmwood Avenue historically eligible and approved Historic Preservation Special Permit applications for each. Two additional properties--9 School Street (Ordway School) and 14 Maple Street--were continued to March pending further Design Review Committee and planning board discussions.
