Historical Commission determines 19 Prospect Street eligible for historic preservation.

Historical Commission · Meeting of March 5, 2026

Amesbury Historical Commission unanimously deems 19 Prospect Street eligible for preservation special permit. Chair Joseph Finn and six commissioners approved the determination, allowing Graf Architects' plan to restore the historic structure and add a second residential dwelling. The project includes replacement of vinyl windows with simulated divided light windows, removal of incompatible additions, and restoration of porch and siding details.

The commission also discussed evolving the demolition bylaw's 75-year historic eligibility threshold and tested new durable materials for the historic house sign program.
