AMESBURY — Library board approves closure policy; plans lighting project and future building work. All nine members of the Library Board of Trustees voted unanimously to approve the Building Closure and Program Cancellation Policy. Director Aimie Westphal reported that a lighting upgrade will begin in September, complete by October 1, and require closing the Children's room during work.
The board is forming a Building Committee for future projects and is preparing applications for Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners construction grants, which if awarded could bring construction beginning in 2031.
