AMESBURY — Poet Laureate Support Committee advances February 15 inauguration and summer programming. The panel confirmed the new Poet Laureate's inauguration and reception on Sunday, February 15, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Amesbury Public Library, with a snow date of February 22, and approved plans including refreshments and Stuart Atkins as an honored guest. Bryan Riley will serve as the committee's official liaison to the Amesbury Cultural Council.

The committee also discussed a slate of Poet Laureate activities including monthly summer events, fall open mics, and youth programming options such as a poetry contest and Storywalk on the Riverwalk trail, with proposed amendments to the Poet Laureate Support Guidelines to reflect Whittier Home Association involvement awaiting Cultural Council approval.
