AMESBURY — Solid waste ordinance advances on fee dispute. The Amesbury City Council voted 7-1 on July 14 to amend the solid waste ordinance and establish a fee schedule intended to offset rising municipal waste and recycling costs, with Councilor Steve Stanganelli opposed over the $100 annual fee level. Councilors Michael Hogg and Stanganelli argued the fee was too low and would ultimately disserve the community.
The Council also unanimously approved two easement orders and referred four first-reading items including a $1.6 million fire pumper purchase to the Committee of the Whole. ===BRIEF===
