Traffic committee names Owen Corcoran as Chair
Traffic & Transportation Committee · Meeting of January 24, 2022
Amesbury Traffic Committee elects Owen Corcoran as Chair, defers most traffic safety requests. The committee voted 6-1 (with Corcoran abstaining) to elect Corcoran to the leadership role; Corcoran is a graduate student in Public Administration. Newly appointed Councilor Jonathan Hickok, who replaced outgoing City Councilor Matt Einson, supported the election.
Most pending traffic requests—a four-way stop proposal at Pond and High streets, bus stop safety complaints at Woodman Road, and speed bump requests for Lake Attitash Way and Spindletree Lane—were deferred to future meetings. The committee voted unanimously to replace traffic cones on Rocky Hill Road after residents said the original cones had effectively slowed traffic in December.
